IFTA Quarterly Worksheets
Your quarter, worked out and laid out — free, forever.
At the end of every quarter you have to account for the miles you ran in each state and the fuel you bought in each state, and square the two. Done by hand, that means a shoebox of receipts, a spreadsheet, and an evening you would rather spend somewhere else. WheelsAndAxle keeps the running total as you go, so the quarter is already added up by the time the deadline comes around.
The worksheet lays out every jurisdiction you ran through on its own line: total miles, taxable gallons, gallons you already paid tax on at the pump, the net, and the rate applied. Nothing is hidden behind a single number. You can follow each line back to the trips and receipts that produced it, which matters when a figure looks off and you need to work out why rather than just accept it.
Rates are sourced per quarter and per fuel type, and the worksheet handles the awkward parts of the system for you — surcharge jurisdictions that bill on a separate line, Oregon's zero fuel rate, states that tax by weight and distance instead, and the jurisdictions that sit outside IFTA entirely and have to come out of the totals before anything else is worked out.
The worksheet is a preparation aid. It gets your quarter organised and the arithmetic done so you have something clear to review, but you are the one who checks the figures against your own records and your base jurisdiction's current rates before you submit anything. The IFTA tools stay free, with no card required, because getting this part wrong is expensive and nobody should be paywalled out of doing it properly.
